AREAS OF SPECIALISATION / AREAS OF TRAINING
Applied Linguistics; Foreign Language Didactics; Pedagogical Integration of ICT; Intercultural Approach in the Teaching and Learning process; eTwinning.
The PhD Thesis presented to the Portuguese Catholic University shows the results of an Action-Research that aimed to test the pedagogical impact of an eTwinning project. This project was based on intercultural communication and cross-cultural collaborative work supported by eTwinning and ICT.
CURRENT TRAINING / RESEARCH INTERESTS
Applied Linguistics; Foreign Language Didactics; Pedagogical Integration of ICT; Security in the use of the Internet; responsible citizenship in the context of intercultural (virtual or otherwise) communication and Project-based learning..
Given that opportunities for interaction with linguistic and cultural diversity are reduced in the formal learning environments and in the rural environments that are geographically isolated, I am seeking for all opportunities to involve my students in transnational projects like eTwinning or Erasmus+.
Another topic of interest is coding and how to introduce coding to develop learners' awarness of global problems and to use coding to create solution to real problems.
